Nope. Once the server is ready to rock, I'll create a new topic (here, Drippys, and Steam Discussions) announcing the tournament. I'll give two options... Put your name in a hat, OR register your own team!

Is there any interest, in doing something monthly/bi-weekly?  I'd be up for regular O vs D with a different map each month/week.  If I could plan around something, I'm more likely to be available.

Now that my daughter is older (9 months), I don't have as much time to play TFC, but I still stalk boards and was happy to see this post.

We're almost ready to start. Once I get the server up and running how I want it (I'll be looking for help mostly from Master and pizzahut for this).

I guess most can be done via suitable cfg files.

- minutes / number of kills are cvars (mp_timelimit, mp_fraglimit)
- class restrictions are cvars (cr_scout etc)
- CTF needs prematch
- optionally FF for CTF, in this case TFC's autokick should be off.

Not sure about rcon. Maybe it would be better to use AMX Mod X instead. Change the default access levels (amx_default_access) a bit, so everyone can change the map and/or start a vote. Set amx_show_activity to 2 (public, with name).

Sudden death:
- tfc_respawndelay 1000 (16m; exceptions: class/team change, console command to suicide)
- Didn't see a cvar for cap limit. A plugin like Bishop's "TFC Nades for Flag Capture" could be modified to end the map on 1st cap (e.g. via mp_timelimit 0) or announce flag captures to console/chat (in case both teams cap at the same time).

Well I was looking at the way old leagues were handled. Normally people would have their own clan server and they would have to take care that their servers are properly configured for the league. This was primarily a league config, not much else was needed or even wanted.

Wireplay offered their own league servers in addition, just in case the opponents didn't have one. But the public rcon password was a bad idea. https://web.archive.org/web/20140829054126/http://tfc.wireplay.co.uk/

The pickup servers are more advanced as they use a bot to organise matches. That's probably a bit overkill for the tournament.

I thought sudden death also meant perma death, but seems it's just about the score actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudden_death_(sport) In this case no messing with the respawn delay is needed. As for scoring, while nothing shows in the client console, I think it's logged though (if logging is turned on in the server cfg).

I have access, I guess I could upload the above league config files for example. Suitable map cyles are needed too, and MOTDs maybe. I guess for initial testing one or two maps each is enough. The map voting plugin might have to be disabled though.

Added these to the test server, unedited.

Usage:
amx_cfg gtfl.cfg /  vitality5v5.cfg /  wptfcl_2.cfg

Default:
amx_cfg server.cfg

I'm looking for something that runs like BZ, with some differences:

No autobhop
No special nade bags
2fort to be the only map available (other than with amx_map)
15 min map rotation
1 min pre-match timer

Teams that don't have an admin present will have to wait until map change. Then 1 min pre-match, 15 mins OvD. Switch upon map change. Whatever team had more caps, wins. If they tie, third map rotation. First cap wins.

I'm not worried that this isn't like league play, or pick up matches... I'm trying to keep this simple and fun.

It doesn't have a lot of plugins running anyway.

Disabled from AMXX:
- admin teleport
- map voting
- auto bunnyhop
- glow

Server cfg:
- time limit + prematch as above
- ff on, autokick off (for team kills)
- foot steps on
- consistency off (it's an anti-cheat feature, but may be a hassle with people being unable to join)
- spectator chat on (so specs can talk to players)
- damage balancing off (to prevent team with lower score from dealing more damage)
- No passwords set (rcon / join).
