everybody, if there's one thing we can all agree on, its that video games have some awesome music. It's essential to any game series to have a fitting and slammin' soundtrack. Please, share some of your favorite soundtracks below. You can even share remixes of those soundtracks if you'd like, no rules here.

Here are some of mine (note - this is just touching the surface, I could literally share hundreds of tracks if I wanted to.)

Storm - Half Life Opposing Force - PC
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdEL1SbZ71g
I'm sure we can all agree opposing force is the best expansion pack of Half Life 1, Blue Shift was good, but I think OF really allowed us to feel like actual HECU soldiers, and this track occurs just after "Missing in Action" starts. Awesome, I think.

Big Blue - F-Zero - SNES
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSb4XQwObIE
Was difficult deciding whether or not to choose Mute City or Big blue for this spot. Big Blue I think has more to it than Mute City, its not just a loop of the same sound effect a dozen times over for the chorus. F-Zero is an amazing game for the SNES which is like a harder version of Mario Kart. The best part I'd say about F-Zero is that you can go super fast - like in the field of 400 km/h, and in F-Zero GX on GameCube, it literally feels like you're going that fast.

Mechanical Resonance - Sonic Adventure / Sonic Adventure DX - Dreamcast, GameCube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWOAez8g8mk
Sonic Adventure was an extremely popular game for the Dreamcast, with over 1.2 million copies sold, which makes it the best selling Dreamcast game in existence. It sold around the same number on GameCube, but it only ranks 27th in the chart of "most popular games" the console has had. Sonic Adventure has really fun fast paced gameplay. With 7 playable characters, this game has entertained me for years after I first got it on GameCube. Sure, the cutscenes are laughably bad in terms of dialogue and animations, but I still find it super enjoyable. Mechanical Resonance plays during the final mission and when inside Robitnik's base. It's funky, impressive and very jammable imo.

Snake Eater - Metal Gear Solid 3 - Playstation 2, Xbox 360.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aHQnDTd1y4
Probably one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, the vocals are amazing, the instrumental is fucking amazing, and the visuals from the cutscene this song plays in is phenomenal. Metal Gear Solid is in my top 10 game series for sure, up there with Half Life and Elder Scrolls, I'd rank MGS as probably #1 as a matter of fact. The story is interesting, well written, very cool and adds so much to the gameplay. I've probably never played 4 games in a series over 20 times each before. Especially considering MGS4 is extremely long and some cutscenes can take almost a half an hour. And one particular sequence of cutscenes is 70 minutes long. Sadly, with the problems Konami is facing today with it's piss poor management and it's horrible decision to fire the man responsible for this masterpiece we won't be seeing another TRUE Metal Gear Solid game any time soon.

I've never played pilotwings, I played the heck out of Goldeneye. My actual N64 has a Goldeneye sticker along with a sticker for donkey kong 64 and one for Majora's mask.

The moment James jumped off that dam I was instantly hooked.

Some choice soundtracks from Sega "Genesis" games (I'm counting Sega CD as Genesis because it required the Genesis to function.)

Sonic CD - Metallic Madness Bad Future

Another Part of Me - Michael Jackson's Moonwalker

I HAVE REVIVED THIS POST.

I must share some more good soundtracks.

Call of Duty: World at War
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqyhezUoDj4

(I specifically like the parts between 3:30 and 6:00. Btw downfall was the best mission in the campaign.) I really am not a huge fan of call of duty anymore. Obviously like any 12 year old I played it when I was that age. World at War is quite possibly the only COD game I actually play sometimes to this day.

chicken invaders 2 main theme

chimken music

GTA IV Main Theme - Soviet Connection
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqE8M2ZnFL8
Some say GTA IV is really hard, some say it's easy as balls. I for one don't give a shit because the music is all I need.

Adding on one more track because I felt if I added downfall I had to add Ring of Steel from cod 5.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmLoZCAEvic

The main reason I like this track a lot too is the atmosphere. In the beginning of the ring of steel level, the first stages of the battle of berlin are taking place. Before Hitler orders the infrastructure to be destroyed, a huge division of Red Army troops, supported by tank divisions, destroy the last line of defense between the red army and Berlin, and take a train station which is on a direct course to Pankow. The Protagonist, Dimitri and his comrades board the train, beginning the assault on Berlin.

The level opens up just outside of Pankow. Katyusha rockets rain down from the skies, demolishing huge portions of the district. This brings the close quarters, house to house reality of the Battle of Berlin to life. Tanks crashing through walls, hospitals becoming war zones.

At the end, hundreds of German troops flee from a massive wave of Soviet troops, supported by tanks.

"Citizens of Berlin! A ring of steel surrounds your rotten city! We
will crush all those who dare to resist the will of the Red Army!
Abandon your posts! Abandon your homes! Abandon all hope! URAAA!!!"

"MORE MORE MORE" I hear you utter as you wait in anticipation for the musics to continue.

My first post had Big Blue in it, but I think Mute City is equally good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0WzWdSVFmE

I used to play Pokemon a ton, but I kinda lost interest after X and Y. I still find myself playing Gen I, II, and III roms. Emerald is probably my all time favorite, and there are some parts of the game which are nearly impossible to decipher if you're not a 150 IQ superhuman. Especially as it relates to the Regis. Their puzzles are mind boggling.

Wizards and Lizards - Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
This level was always my favorite in this unspeakably bad crash game. Mostly due to the aesthetics and sound design.

SOURCEFROOB VGS POST PART SEVEN

☭ RED ALERT EDITION ☭

I have once again returned to add more to this most excellent and based thread to ever exist on this forum.  This time I bring the gifts of HELL MARCH in all three of it's versions, as well as the iconic Soviet March track as well.

Boring stuff:
Red Alert is an RTS-game series which takes place in a weird alternate history where the Albert Einstein goes back in time to eliminate Adolf Hitler to prevent the second World War from taking place.

Now onto the good stuff. In every one of the Red Alert games (Not Command & Conquer in general) the track "Hell March" is reworked and made to the same standards as the original rendition.

The classic first.

Finally,
☭ Soviet March ☭

note: this is not a political post at all. despite being a game which has superimposed communist imagery, it takes place in a fictional timeline with fictional history, and I seriously doubt anyone who plays the game takes the source material as a legitimate political piece.

Thank you for listening.
