I bought a "Footlong" chili cheese dog from Sonic on FRiday...only - get this - the hotdog was only 10.5 inches long! The bun was 12.25 inches long. SO I called them and told them that my hotdog was not the correct size. The guy says and I quote:
"Dude, I'm totally sorry but I'm just the manager. They just call them foot longs, they aren't really a foot long. They send me what I need, I don't even have to tell'em. Can I buy you an ice cream? Oh and if you didn't measure it you would never know it wasn't really 10 inches anyway!"
So yeah, there it is. I didn't tell him how long the hotdog was. I simply said my hotdog is a full inch and a half shorter than a foot. Yet by his understanding the hot dog was half an inch longer than it should have been. He and one other "d00d" were working when I ordered. I'm guessing the position of fast food manager has been deemed "no diploma" required.
So this story brings me to an actual question/statement (Jules you work with young people what say you?):
1) Do you see this level of "intelligence" often in the young people you deal with?
2) Please regale us with some anecdotal experiences of your own.
LOL and the same could be said about subway. My six in sub was actually 7 inches. bastards!
