Quake 1 and 2.  Then it was Half-Life.  And those remain the only FPS games where I have beaten the story-line part.

Decent was ridiculously hard to control... I would consider it an old school FPS. Just because it's flying a ship around a 3d world should make it NOT count... You are shooting multiple targets, in a first person view!

Assuming you played the game from the first person view...
